Match Report

The run continues.........9 games unbeaten!

This morning's league match saw the Lions of Four Oaks v The Lions of Pelsall. I'll gloss over the opening 5 minutes, when it's fair to say the boys needed some vocal encouragement from their Managers to snap them out of their slumber!

The game itself was won with a hat-trick from Mak and one from Jayan. In truth, new could and should have had a lot more.........then again, we were indebted to Dan and his defence for keeping a clean sheet, as it was by no means one way traffic!

Daniel - a solid morning and a deserved clean sheet. Marshalled his defence well and was calm under pressure

Patrick - one of his best defensive performances in the first half - never beaten, ran the ball out/cleared under pressure. Another who earned his clean sheet and, but for a hat-trick from Mak, could have won MOTM

Louis - superb all morning, be it in Midfield, Left Back or Centre Back. Won countless headers and tackles

Jakey - struggling with illness, Jakey did well to get through 30 minutes hard work

Philip - slotted in at left back and stuck to his job well. Won his personal battle and part of a great defensive unit

Noah - good defending, some good runs down the wing in the second half and, to round off a good morning, two first class assists

Mak - took all 3 goals superbly well, rounding the keeper for 2 of them. Was live.y all morning and a deserved MOTM

Ethan - grew into the game and won some great tackles. A couple of long range efforts. Some neat link up play as well

Will - played a captains role, hounding his opposite number all morning. Some great forward runs and, with a bit more luck, would have beaten his man to score in the first half

Jayan - another game, another goal for our leading scorer. Could and should have had a couple more, but a good morning, where he played the support role in attack to good effect

Whilst there are still a couple of results outstanding from today's games, it's nice to see The Lions sitting top of Division 2 after 4 games. Well done boys
