Match Report

Familiar opponents in APR today and, whilst we ended up losing 4-2, I can not fault the boys for their performance. Barring a couple of defensive mistakes, which ended with us conceding, we defended well as a team. What pleased Suk and I most, however, was the attacking play, which was most definitely down to the drills Suk has done over the last couple of weeks.

Although Noah was thwarted by the keeper, the move late in the first half, that was a slick one touch passing move, involving half the team, was a joy to watch. Keep it going boys

Daniel - could do little about the goals. His command of his defence and his kicking was superb all game

Aran - played right and left back and did both really well. Some great covering tackles and good distribution

Jakey - an unusually shaky start didn't affect his game and came back in the second half to perform brilliantly in Midfield.

Louis - for the second week running he was faultless (bar one slightly late challenge). Their number 9 certainly knew he'd been in a game! A MOTM contender

Philip - did really well in defence. Can't remember a misplaced pass all game

Patrick - his usual faultless display at right back, before moving into midfield, to good effect, in the second half

Ethan - had a really good game. Won plenty of tackles and a much improved passing display

Luke - a good first half and, playing as Centre Forward, an even better second half. Deserved a goal for an all action display

Noah - was really on his game today. Used his pace to great effect for our first equaliser, which he lifted over the keeper. Still trying to claim the second, which was an OG from his Corner! Ran at the APR defence all morning. MOTM

Mak - some great link up play. Involved in the move described earlier. Also showed he can get stuck in!

Jayan - some really neat flicks and passes. Had a couple of half chances. Did well in an unfamiliar left wing role in the second half

A great performance, if not result, boys. If you keep listening and working in Training, I'm sure there are plenty of performances like this ahead - hopefully with the result to go with it! COYL
