Walsall Phoenix Condors 3 V 8 Lions
Pitch : Kings Hill Park
Match Report

The Lions made it a third straight win, running out 8-3 winners against Walsall Phoenix Condors. I'd like to tell you the win owed everything to the years of coaching that Suk and I have spent instilling into the boys but, let's face it, results are down to the half time Oranges/Jaffa Cakes!

Whilst we rode our luck, against a skilful Walsall side, the boys more than deserved the win, with goals from Noah (3), Jayan (3), Harrison and Mak. Although Dan kept the goals against column down, it's fair to say we could actually have scored a lot more had we been a bit sharper in front of goal.

Daniel - read the game brilliantly, even claiming an assist with one clearance. Safe handling all game

Patrick - up against a tricky player, Paddy did what he always does and never gave up. Another good performance

Jakey - shook off illness to Marshall the defence well. Some well timed tackles kept Walsall at bay

Louis - skilful and determined all game. Caught out a couple of times, but didn't let that affect his game

Philip - gets better with each game. Showed real composure in defence and always looked to play a pass to feet. A great performance Philip.

Aran - another really lively performance at Right Back and Right Midfield. Had sight of goal, but fired over

Ethan - a really lively second half showing. Got stuck in, set up chances and, with a slightly cooler head, may have scored

Mak - brilliant all game. Some wonderful passes, particularly the one to set Noah up for the second

Max - so nearly got his second goal of the season. A lively second half showing in Left Midfield. A MOTM contender

Will - illness forced Will off in the first half, but played his part in our win

Noah - we've been telling him to shoot more often.....he listens occasionally! A great performance that perhaps should have ended with more goals! A deserved MOTM

Harrison - definitely should have had more goals, but did really well to get into the positions and took his goal well. Great to hear some vocal encouragement from our Captain for the day

Jayan - whilst he was involved in all our good attacks, it was odd that Jayan hadn't scored with 10 minutes remaining.........a 5 minute hat-trick, rounded off with a Goal of the Season contender, put paid to any thoughts he may draw a blank. A MOTM contender

A well deserved week off for everyone, then back with games against Great Barr Harriers and Pelsall Villa Colts Lions........let's see if we can keep the Orange aided run going boys. COYL
